Nepa Fec (that's pronounced nay-pah see) began in 2001 with only sixteen members on the team. Only thirty-six children showed up for VBS. Now, more than five years later, it has grown to seventy team members and teaches three hundred children important stories and lessons from the Bible. Through story-telling, funny skits, and crafts, the children on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota learn about the life and times of Jesus Christ.

Not only is there a VBS team that goes out just to play with and teach the children, there is also a Construction team! This team of hard-working people goes where they are needed to build wheelchair ramps for the elderly, fix basketball hoops, put up new swingsets and slides, and, in the year 2006, even replaced a roof on an old church. While they work, they get the opportunity to speak with the local adults and to teach them about building, or just to chat.

The mission to the reservation in South Dakota is an incredible experience. At times it is trying and difficult, but more than anything it is fun while bringing the hope of Jesus Christ to the Lakota people.
